Hello

I am currently using a external keyboard to write this, the one on my eee pc has its key's misplaced. I know its not broken since I booted the live version and even my current install it works fine just before log in. My guess is that my current external keyboard messed up the keyboard map. But then again I don't know what tot do.

Thanks!

You probably need to go to the menu: System - Preferences - Keyboard. The 2nd tab, Layouts, would be a good place to start.

OK, how about describing what does happen with the keyboard? So what exactly is 'misplaced'? Anyway, when you do eventually find the keys they'll be in the last place you look

Had you changed keyboard layout from the login screen? Do anything with xkb/xbindkeys? What keyboard layout are you expecting? What layout do you get?

Now everything is messed up, my regular keys are numbers. in the keyboard lay out no matter what I change it wont actually make the change...

I even tried upgrading or reinstalling the packages related to the keyboard with no avail.

I even tried dpkg-reconfigure console-data , that looked legit but the same result :(

I know my keyboard works since before login in to my user all the keys work.

My "and @ were switched, but it is in the dvd test version. I don't know what would happen if I made a real install... I'm still on Linux Mint 10...
