overall the video performance currently on my 1000HE is horrible, things such as gnome-do and even more so youtube videos, or vlc videos play with a lot of lag (5-15 fps).

I was thinking of tweaking xorg.conf but it does not exist, and reconfiguring x does not create it also. Anyone have any details of how to go about doing this ?
