I'm (finally) caught up on the forum (well, the post-eb3 sections anyway), so I figured I'd better get around to offering my help before I find another (poor) excuse. My time is rather limited, but then, whose isn't? And this is a worthy cause...
The last few years I've mostly worked in PHP and some Java, but I've also dabbled a little in C, and have coded in several other languages before.
While I haven't actually done any Vala yet, I'm willing to learn - so far I've read a couple of the tutorials, and it seems fairly straightforward.
As such (assuming Vala is what's needed the most right now (e.g. with Exogenesis)), would you happen to have any relatively simple tasks that just need to be done by someone? At this stage, I'm not opposed to gruntwork...
Not sure how relevant it is, but on my own PCs I've primarily been using Debian for a few years now, and am currently using eb4b1 on my netbook (which, kind of embarrasingly for me, is my only PC atm since the others have broken down one by one).
As kind of mentioned in another post, I'm sort of familiar with some parts of deb repositories - namely the file formats of some of the control files, which I've used to implement a dependency version consistency checker (mostly for fun) - but I am not familiar with the tools normally used to maintain such repositories (though, again, I can learn if that's what's needed).
